Our Nursery provides a warm, stimulating and inclusive environment in which young children are encouraged to explore, develop independence and build positive relationships with others. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Early Years Manager in the effective leadership and day-to-day operation of the Nursery.

About the Role

The Deputy Nursery Manager will play a key role in ensuring that the Nursery operates to the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding and professional practice.

Working closely with the Early Years Manager, the successful candidate will help lead and motivate the Nursery team, maintain a high-quality learning environment and ensure that children receive exceptional care and educational experiences.

The Deputy Nursery Manager will take responsibility for the Nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager and will be expected to demonstrate sound judgement, initiative and a calm, professional approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager/Early Year Lead in the effective leadership and management of the Nursery.
• Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Nursery.
• Lead by example and promote a positive, collaborative and professional team culture.
• Support the induction, supervision and development of Nursery staff.
• Assist with staff deployment, rotas and allocation of responsibilities to ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective use of resources.
• Support performance management and contribute to staff appraisal and professional development.
• Promote high standards of communication and teamwork across the Nursery and wider school.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Nursery policies and procedures.
