Pattison School is seeking a Learning and Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism and ADHD. About the Role
- Provide individualised support across the school day, including classroom assistance, break/lunchtime supervision, and transitions.
- Implement strategies tailored to the pupil’s needs, supporting emotional regulation, communication, focus, and social interaction.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team to deliver strategies from EHCPs and other support plans.
- Help create a calm, safe, and structured environment that promotes confidence, independence, and learning.
About You
- Has experience supporting children with Autism, ideally in a school or educational setting.
- Demonstrates empathy, consistency, and the ability to build a trusting relationship with a child.
- Remains calm under pressure and responds positively to challenging behaviour.
- Is a strong communicator and team player with a flexible, proactive approach.
- Holds a Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Training will be provided.
