Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to strengthen their electrical design team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the electrical design on a wide range of projects, manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued success of the business. There is also a genuine opportunity to progress into Associate level for the right individual.
Responsibilities- Lead the electrical design and delivery of multiple building services projects from concept through to completion.
- Manage project programmes, budgets and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
- Produce and review detailed electrical design calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
- Attend client, design team and site meetings, acting as the lead electrical engineer where required.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers and external consultants throughout the design process.
- Undertake site inspections, witness commissioning activities and provide technical support during construction.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business.
- Mentor and support intermediate and junior engineers, providing technical guidance and encouraging professional development.
- Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with current regulations, industry standards and company quality procedures.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of low voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms and associated building services systems.
- Proven experience delivering projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial and residential.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high technical standards.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programme delivery.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers.
- Working knowledge of industry design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design packages.
- Progress towards Chartered Engineer status, or already Chartered, would be advantageous.
