Job Title: Senior BREEAM Assessor/Sustainability Consultant
You will play a key role in the Sustainability team, driving projects and enhancing client relationships whilst maintaining a strong focus on identifying and developing new business initiatives.
Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will provide a first-class BREEAM and sustainability consultancy services to clients. You will work across a variety of sectors and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as we support the development of your professional skills.
Main Role and responsibility
- Undertaking BREEAM and Well and Fitwel assessments
- Manage multi projects on budget and in a timely manner
- Acting as the Sustainability consultant and BREEAM AP, you will work closely with the clients, design team and contractors in a professional manner to deliver their key sustainability objectives – BREEAM, WELL, Fitwell, HQM.
- Provide high-quality consultancy services, providing clear and applicable guidance and recommendations, allowing projects to realise their potential.
- Assist in the delivery of sustainability strategies, this could include the following: Sustainability Benchmarks, sustainability Statements, Circular Economy, Health + Well-being.
- Work collaboratively to develop compelling sustainability associated presentations – continuing our contribution to the built environment sector.
- Desire to undertake Continual Professional Development by reading technical journals, attending relevant technical seminars from time to time, and attending in-house seminars aimed at increasing technical and operational knowledge
Management
- Monitor workload against deliverables and report to line manager.
- Utilise a high level of oral and written communication (particularly developing report writing skills) to ensure clarity of communication both internally and externally.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance procedures.
- Maintain good existing relationships with project stakeholders.
- Take accountability for client-facing consultancy services, and liaise with clients and others to obtain technical and operational information relating to the projects.
- Keep project documentation up-to-date and comply with file management protocols.
- Mentoring and training more junior members of staff.
Health & Safety
- Demonstrate understanding of the CDM Regulations, specifically the Designer’s requirements.
- Report all accidents/incidents or near misses.
- Ensure adherence to all H&S requirements at all times.

- Use and maintain appropriate PPE.
Qualifications
- Accreditations/ Qualified and experienced BREEAM Assessor and/or BREEAM AP
- Relevant BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in an environmental or construction discipline
- Min 3 years experience in undertaking building environmental assessments and certifications eg. BREEAM, WELL and Fitwel, HQM, and similar
- Knowledge of building performance and LCA tools
- Knowledge of thermal modelling and building physics studies including daylight studies, thermal comfort, and overheating studies
- Track record in client relationship management and project management in a consulting environment.
