We are recruiting for an experienced freelance Site Manager to oversee a commercial interior fit-out project in central Uttoxeter. The project will involve the internal fit-out of a plastered shell, with a number of specialist subcontractors on site including joinery, ceilings, flooring, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and general interior fit-out trades. This is a non-working Site Manager position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the site
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors
- Health and safety management
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance with RAMS
- Toolbox talks, inductions and permits to work where required
- Monitoring progress against the construction programme
- Maintaining quality standards throughout the project
- Daily coordination with subcontractors
- Weekly progress meetings with the Project Manager
- Reporting progress and site issues
- Managing site logistics and deliveries
- Ensuring works are completed safely and compliantly
- Minimising disruption to neighbouring occupied premises
- Coordinating works where the new fit-out connects into the existing office space
Mandatory requirements:
- Valid SMSTS
- Valid First Aid at Work
- Valid CSCS card
- Proven commercial interior fit-out experience
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of RAMS, permits and site health and safety
- Ability to manage programme, quality and day-to-day site delivery
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full right to work in the UK
- Recent relevant references
- A Black CSCS Manager card would be preferred but is not essential for candidates with strong relevant fit-out experience.
