We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, delivering reactive maintenance works across social housing properties. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in social housing maintenance, particularly within schedule of rates (SOR) contracts and high-volume reactive works.
Based in Solihull, you will play a key role in the commercial management of maintenance projects, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commercial aspects of reactive maintenance contracts within social housing
- Price, review and manage works using Schedule of Rates (SOR)
- Prepare cost estimates, valuations, and final accounts
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure financial targets are met
- Assess and manage subcontractor applications, payments and variations
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Work closely with operational teams to support delivery and performance
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Produce accurate reporting on cost, value and performance
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts
- Experience managing reactive maintenance or planned maintenance works
- Good commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred but not essential with relevant experience)
- Competitive salary of £50,000
