About the Role: This is a working supervisor role, ideal for someone with strong technical skills who can lead by example on site. You will oversee a team of Electricians and Mates while still taking an active role in installations, testing, and maintenance. You will be the link between site operatives and the Site Manager, ensuring work is completed safely, to spec, and on time across solar farms, BESS, and ICP projects (11kV–132kV).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Planning: Supervise Electricians and Mates, assist with planning, resourcing, and day-to-day coordination.
  • Installations & Maintenance: Carry out and oversee works on DC, LV, and HV systems, including civil interface tasks like trenching and ducting.
  • Testing: Perform and supervise AC/DC, HV/LV, comms, and injection testing using equipment such as Megger or Omicron.
  • Cable Work: Terminate, gland, and test power and signal cables. Install enclosures, trays, and containment.
  • Quality & Safety: Ensure all site work is compliant with regulations and project standards. Promote a safety-first culture.
  • Liaison & Reporting: Coordinate with the Site Manager, contractors, and trades. Maintain records and reports on progress and issues.
  • Training & Development: Mentor junior electricians and support their progression through structured training.
  • Authorised Person (AP): Willing and able to take on AP responsibilities where appropriate, based on experience and project needs.

What You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Level 2/3 City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Engineering
  • 17th/18th Edition (BS7671)
  • Proven experience with:
  • Solar and BESS installs
  • ICP works (11kV–132kV)
  • Electrical testing and fault finding
  • Cable terminations and trenching
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings and specifications
  • ECS or EUSR card
  • SSSTS, SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Full UK driving licence (12+ months)
  • Desirable:

    • AP15/OP40
    • Testing & Inspection qualification
    • HV/LV jointing certificates
    • NERS Passport
