We are currently looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support a live energy project in Aberdeen. This is a client-side oversight role, working alongside the Site Manager to support and monitor the commissioning phase of the project. You will not be carrying out the physical commissioning works, instead you will be responsible for reviewing, challenging and reporting on contractor performance, ensuring the commissioning process is delivered correctly and safely.
Role Responsibilities- Support the Site Manager with day-to-day site activity
- Review and monitor contractor commissioning activities
- Provide technical oversight on electrical commissioning
- Attend meetings and contribute to commissioning strategy
- Produce and support commissioning reports
- Review and sign off initial and final commissioning documentation
- Act as a key interface between contractor and client
- Strong background in electrical commissioning (HV or LV)
- Experience working on energy or infrastructure projects
- Previous experience in a client-side or oversight role is highly desirable
- Ability to challenge contractors and provide technical direction
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
- Highly desirable: BESS (Battery Energy Storage) project experience
- Grid / substation / power distribution experience
