To provide direct support to residents in line with their individual care plans, contributing to the development of the individual resident by supporting them with a consistent model of care.

Responsibilities

  • To undertake tasks in accordance with the individual care plans of the residents at the home.
  • To perform duties in a consistent and effective manner.
  • To encourage individual residents to take as much responsibility for their own lives as they can reasonably be expected to do.
  • To communicate in ways which facilitate a positive outcome(s).
  • To note and report any perceived changes in any resident’s condition and behaviours.
  • To maintain the confidentiality of information regarding the residents at all times in accordance with Bedwellty Park Residential Home’s Confidentiality Policy.
  • To assist residents in their daily activities as identified in their individual care plans and any activities deemed appropriate for their development and wellbeing.
  • To have a professional attitude, patience and empathy to work effectively with all residents.
  • To assist in providing a positive and fulfilling environment so that the resident can strive to develop their full potential but account for their vulnerability and need for support on an individual basis.
  • Ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Ensure that all residents are encouraged to exercise their right to choice.
