At Bedspace, we’re proud to provide safe, supportive accommodation for vulnerable individuals across the UK. To help us continue delivering high-quality services, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Utilities Officer to support the management of utilities across our properties. This role is key in ensuring utilities and council tax are set up and managed correctly and cost-effectively for our service users. You’ll be involved in everything from registering accounts and resolving billing issues to monitoring utility usage and supporting colleagues with day-to-day queries.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Registering and maintaining utility accounts (gas, electricity, council tax, water).
  • Ensuring account details and meter types are accurate and appropriate.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and manage smart meter installations.
  • Supporting tenancy changes by updating systems and suppliers promptly.
  • Assisting colleagues and service users with queries around utilities and billing.
  • Producing reports and analysing utility data to spot trends or anomalies.
  • Keeping accurate records in internal systems (ReMaS / Arthur / Sage).
  • Supporting the property onboarding team with registrations and compliance checks.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous administration experience (essential).
  • Excellent communication skills and a methodical approach.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a (business insured) vehicle.
  • Knowledge of council tax procedures (desirable).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent (desirable).

Salary: £34,375.24 per annum inclusive of sleep rate.
