About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker at Bedspace, you’ll provide high-quality support to young people as they work towards independence. You’ll play a key role in helping them develop the practical skills, confidence, and emotional resilience needed to live independently and thrive within their local community. Each day will bring new challenges and opportunities, but the overall goal remains the same—to empower young people to build positive, independent futures.

You’ll use our ASDAN modules to guide young people through key areas, including finance and budgeting, tenancy support, personal development, health and wellbeing, healthy eating, relationships, and culture. Your role involves helping them develop essential life skills, encouraging independence, and supporting them through their day-to-day challenges.

This role is based in Liverpool, Merseyside. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance are essential. You will typically work around 10 shifts per month, with an annual salary of £34,375.24 inclusive of sleep‑in payments.

About You

You are empathetic, patient, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people. You have experience working with individuals who have complex emotional and social needs, including those affected by trauma, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours. Your communication skills are strong, and you are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and a sense of humour are key, as you will need to adapt to changing situations while maintaining a positive and proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to young people, helping them develop essential life skills.
  • Assist with educational, health, and welfare needs, ensuring access to necessary resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of service users’ progress.

Requirements

  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working with young people who have complex needs in a social care setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have, or be willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to manage administrative tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
