Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and care for children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Maintain open communication with children, families, and team members to foster a supportive environment.
  • Drive children to appointments and activities as needed, ensuring timely arrivals.
  • Document progress and any incidents accurately, utilising IT systems for record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Form positive relationships with children based on respect and openness.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a residential setting.
  • Have an awareness of safeguarding from harm and the ability to assess and manage risk.
  • Ideally you will have Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Aged 21 and over due to industry regulations.
  • Must have a full UK valid Driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.

Salary and Working Hours

Full Time 37.5 Hours - Salary is £33,674.88 per annum inclusive of sleeps. Part Time 24 Hours - Salary is £21,247.82 per annum inclusive of sleeps. Shift pattern includes weekends and sleep-ins. 4-week rolling rota; sleeps are 8 across the rota for full-time time and 6 for part-time workers. Shifts are typically 2:30pm - 10:30pm / 7:00am - 3:00pm.
