Role Summary: As a Café/Bar Team Member, you’ll be at the heart of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Your main responsibilities will include preparing and serving a range of beverages, including hot drinks. Barista experience is desirable, but a love for good coffee is essential. You will also be responsible for simple café food preparation and service, with experience in cocktail making being beneficial. Ensuring the café/bar area is well maintained and delivering exceptional customer service will be key parts of your role. You’ll collaborate with other bar team members across our multi‑faceted business to provide seamless service, and work closely with the kitchen to ensure our food offering is to standard and well stocked to meet demand. This is a dynamic and fast‑paced role, requiring strong multitasking skills, a calm approach under pressure, and a team‑oriented mindset. Flexibility is essential, with early morning, afternoon, and early evening availability required. The role operates across seven‑day trading, including weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drink Preparation & Service: Barista coffee making and general beverage service, alongside mixing and serving alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks according to recipes and guest preferences.
- Food Preparation & Service: Basic food preparation and service, ensuring food safety regulations are adhered to and company recipes and specifications are followed. Deliver both counter and table service to a high standard.
- Customer Service: Greet guests warmly, take orders, and ensure a memorable experience by addressing any questions or concerns.
- Cleanliness & Organisation: Keep the café/bar area clean and orderly, including the washing area, and sanitise surfaces in line with health and safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock café/bar supplies, including beverages and food items.
- Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, including cash, card, and mobile transactions, and balance the register after shifts.
- Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including ID checks for legal drinking age and responsible alcohol service.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and wider service teams to ensure smooth operations and high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Event Support: Assist with the setup and service of special events and private functions.
- Food Service Delivery: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery of orders, maintaining high standards of service throughout.
