Are you a creative kitchen professional? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Are you passionate about seasonal, local ingredients? We’re looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team in Cornwall. You’ll play a key role across our two restaurants and in-house bakery, preparing and presenting high-quality dishes and pastries that delight our guests. If you have a keen eye for detail, love working in a team, and are excited by a fast-paced, hands-on role, this is the role for you. Hours of work are 45 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, with a mix of early and evening shifts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Produce high-quality dishes consistently across all sections of the kitchen
- Work flexibly across different sections – Sauce, Ogo (adult dining), Plant Fish & Grill (family dining), Breakfast & Pastry
- Assist in developing and testing new recipes and seasonal menu items
- Ensure daily mise en place is completed efficiently and to the required standard
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization, in line with food hygiene regulations
- Train and supervise Commis Chefs and apprentices in your section
- Collaborate with the team to manage production for retail and in-house needs
- Monitor stock and assist with ordering and inventory control
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a hotel or restaurant
- Relevant culinary or pastry qualifications preferred
- Strong knowledge of classic cooking techniques
