EBME Junior Biomedical Engineering Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and flexible individual to be part of a professional team maintaining and repairing medical devices within Bedford Hospital, and any other associated Trust establishments across the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including outreach clinics and establishments used in the course of Trust business.
The successful candidate must possess an electronic background with medical device technology certification or equivalent training and experience. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, have good interpersonal skills and a developed ability to communicate well.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior EBME Biomedical Engineering Technician to join our EBME Department at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust
You will play a key supporting role in the care and maintenance of a broad range of medical equipment throughout Bedford Hospital including across the community sites and sometimes Luton Hospital.
We are a busy department that provides a comprehensive service, carrying out the routine calibration, maintenance, repair and management of the Trust\’s medical equipment. The successful candidate will be required to work on various medical devices ranging from flow meters, suction units, weighing scales to Infusion pumps, Cardiac Monitors etc.
This is a full time position, working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm).
You will be educated to ONC level in Medical Electronics/Engineering with knowledge and UK experience of working on medical equipment in an acute hospital. We will consider individuals who can demonstrate they have transferable skills and experience in general electrical/electronic engineering. The work requires being able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
