A temporary vacancy at Watch Manager B in the role of Workplace Development Support Officer has arisen, with an anticipated start date in February 2026. The role sits within the Competency & Development team, and is based at the Training and Development Centre, Kempston, and will involve travel to stations around the county as required.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused individual to play a vital role in developing and supporting our workforce. This is a unique opportunity to influence the quality, consistency and impact of workplace-based learning, apprenticeships and competence programmes across the service, while supporting managers and staff to achieve their full potential.

The post holder will ensure candidates undertaking development and apprenticeships are provided with appropriate guidance and support. They will allocate assessors and internal verifiers prior to commencement of the assessor and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) awards. They will maintain effective internal systems to monitor the progress of candidates, dealing with appeals, complaints and suspected malpractice. They will provide regular audits and manage and deliver the IQA awards in accordance with Awarding Body requirements. A good understanding of the competency requirements of all ranks will be important, and the ability to utilise PDR Pro records.
