We are seeking candidates who can provide weekday and weekend availability. Availability required:
- Monday – Friday daytime
- Weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)

Role of an On-Call Firefighter
On-Call Firefighters respond to operational incidents and contribute to Community Safety initiatives aimed at reducing fires, accidents, and injuries. They carry a pager and respond to emergencies as they happen, working alongside dedicated professionals and community groups.
Many on-call firefighters have primary jobs and provide evening, daytime, or weekend cover. When on call, they may be at home, working remotely, or in their community, staying within a six-minute travel time of the fire station (eight-minute for Woburn).
Availability
Availability will be discussed early to ensure it meets Service needs. You will receive a retaining fee for your availability, plus additional payments for attending incidents, community activities, and weekly drills.
