Bedford School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Swimming to join our thriving Sport Department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality sessions that develop confidence, safety, and skill across all levels. Working with both team and co-curricular swimmers, you will inspire progress in every pupil and contribute to the development of our competitive swimming and wider aquatics programme.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality swimming sessions that develop confidence, safety, and skill across all levels.

Qualifications

  • Swim England Level 2 qualification (or higher).
  • Experience teaching or coaching young swimmers.
  • Strong understanding of stroke development and water safety.
  • Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ or equivalent) is desirable.

Compensation

Paid as advised (Hourly rate depending on experience: £12.80 to £38.41 + PAA hours for galas).

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday before school (7.00–8.00 am). Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes and Games time (12.00–4.00 pm).
