We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in doing things properly. In this role, you’ll be dealing directly with members of the public, both in person and in writing, helping to resolve queries and make sure things are handled fairly and in line with procedures and legislation. Some conversations will be straightforward, others may involve customers who are upset, angry, or frustrated, so confidence, patience and a calm approach are key.

Responsibilities:

  • Spend part of your time working with computer systems, preparing letters, updating records, producing straightforward reports and using Word and Excel for everyday tasks.
  • There’s also a financial element to the role, including reconciling cash and cheque receipts and making sure financial records and statements are accurate and completed on time.

About You:

  • You’ve had some experience working with members of the public and you know how to handle a wide range of situations with tact, professionalism and empathy.
  • You’re comfortable communicating clearly, whether that’s understanding straightforward letters, writing responses, or explaining things to customers face to face.
  • You’re organised, able to manage your own workload, and you take care to input data accurately.
  • Using Microsoft Word and Excel feels familiar to you, and you’re confident working with basic spreadsheets and word-processing tasks.
  • This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
