We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, talented, and energetic teacher of Maths starting September 2026. We are looking for a permanent, full-time staff member.
At Bedford High School, Mathematics sits at the heart of our ambition to help every student discover and achieve their potential. We believe that Maths is more than a curriculum subject; it is a language for understanding the world, a tool for solving problems, and a foundation for confidence in life beyond the classroom. As a teacher in our Mathematics department, you will play a vital role in nurturing this belief, helping students to see the beauty, logic, and real-world relevance of the subject.
Our curriculum, rooted in depth of understanding and logical reasoning, encourages students to think creatively, tackle challenges with resilience, and develop independence in problem-solving. In KS3 and KS4, students follow a scheme of work adapted from White Rose Maths, carefully tailored to the needs of Bedford students. This builds on prior learning from Key Stage 2 and promotes depth of understanding, alongside problem-solving and long-term knowledge retention. Through high-quality teaching, skilled modelling, and purposeful questioning, you will help learners build secure knowledge that lasts, preparing them for success at GCSE and beyond.
What truly sets Bedford High School apart is our values-driven culture. Everything we do is shaped by our commitment to Work Hard, Be Respectful, Take Responsibility. These values guide our decisions, our relationships, and our daily practice. As a member of our team, you will be supported by colleagues who care deeply about staff wellbeing, collaboration, and continuous professional growth. We invest heavily in training, mentorship, and leadership development because we believe that when teachers thrive, students thrive.
You will join a department that celebrates curiosity, encourages academic ambition, and strives to create a learning experience where every student feels capable, challenged, and inspired. Whether you are helping a learner finally master algebra, deepening understanding of geometry, or guiding a class through the excitement of problem-solving, your impact will be both immediate and lasting. Above all, our goal is to inspire a genuine love for Mathematics in our students, encouraging them to explore the topics we cover and empowering them to tackle increasingly complex challenges with confidence.
