Role: Training Coordinator – Mechanical Engineering

Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus

Salary: £33,048 to £41,085 per annum (DOE and qualifications)

Benefits: 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

Eligibility: UK based contract. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship. Offer of employment will be subject to evidence of right to work.

About the Role

  • Apprenticeship Delivery & Mechanical Engineering Support: Support Mechanical Engineering apprentices through end‑to‑end programme delivery, including induction, training, assessment and development of knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Workplace Assessment, Coaching & Progress Tracking: Conduct regular workplace reviews, set SMART targets and provide coaching and mentoring to ensure timely progression and successful completion of apprenticeships.
  • Employer Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with employers, tutors and support teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of training with industry needs.
  • Quality Assurance, Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate e‑portfolio records, ensure compliance with funding rules and awarding body requirements, and contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes.
  • Professional Practice, Health & Safety & Continuous Development: Promote safe working practices, support learner wellbeing, engage in CPD and uphold safeguarding, EDI and college standards.

About You

  • Qualifications & Mechanical Engineering Expertise: GCSEs (Level 2) with a Level 3 Engineering qualification, supported by recent industry experience and strong knowledge of mechanical systems and disciplines.
  • Technical Skills & Practical Application: Hands‑on expertise in mechanical maintenance, fitting and assembly, hydraulics and pneumatics, and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Apprenticeship Support & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to manage caseloads, communicate effectively with learners, employers and stakeholders, and support apprentices to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Organisation, Initiative & Performance Delivery: Highly organised and proactive, able to manage workload independently, meet targets and ensure consistent learner engagement and progress.
