Location: The Corby Sixth Form

Salary / Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours / Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role

We are currently seeking a Teacher in Physics and Maths and/or Computer Science to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group. Successful candidate must be able to teach Physics as well as either Maths or Computer Science.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching, Learning & Student Development – Deliver engaging, high‑quality Sixth Form teaching, supporting students to develop knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Curriculum Planning & Delivery – Plan and deliver structured lessons, maintaining a high‑quality learning environment and contributing to curriculum development.
  • Assessment, Progress & Achievement – Provide timely assessment and feedback, track student progress and contribute to achieving retention and success targets.
  • Enrichment, Engagement & Student Experience – Organise extracurricular activities, trips and events that enhance learning and support personal development.
  • Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance – Participate in CPD, parental engagement and college activities while upholding safeguarding, EDI and health & safety standards.

About you

  • Qualifications & A Level Teaching Expertise – Degree in a relevant subject with a recognised teaching qualification, supported by current experience teaching A Level students in a Sixth Form or FE environment.
  • Teaching Excellence & Student Outcomes – Proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching, creating engaging learning environments and achieving strong student progress and success.
  • Curriculum Knowledge & Innovative Practice – Up‑to‑date subject and syllabus knowledge, with effective use of ILT to enhance learning and engage students through modern teaching approaches.
  • Communication, Organisation & Collaboration – Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, able to build strong relationships, manage workload and work effectively within a team.
