Location: The Bedford Sixth Form

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum (Pro‑Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro‑Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 25.9 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time

About the role

  • Teaching, Learning & Student Development: Deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching within Sixth Form, developing students’ knowledge, skills and curiosity to support progression and achievement.
  • Curriculum Planning & Delivery: Plan, prepare and deliver structured lessons, maintaining a high‑quality learning environment and contributing proactively to curriculum development.
  • Assessment, Progress & Achievement: Provide timely assessment and feedback, monitor student progress and contribute to improving retention, attainment and overall student outcomes.
  • Enrichment, Engagement & Student Experience: Organise extracurricular activities, trips and events, enhancing the student experience and supporting personal development.
  • Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance: Participate in CPD, performance reviews and college activities, while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and organisational standards.

About you

  • Qualifications & A Level Teaching Expertise: Degree in a relevant subject with a recognised teaching qualification, supported by current experience teaching A Level students in a Sixth Form or FE setting.
  • Teaching Excellence & Learner Outcomes: Demonstrable success delivering high‑quality teaching, creating outstanding learning environments and achieving strong student progress and attainment.
  • Curriculum Knowledge & Innovative Practice: Up‑to‑date subject and syllabus knowledge, with effective use of ILT to enhance teaching and engage learners through modern approaches.
  • Communication, Teamwork & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong relationships with students, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Professional Values, Safeguarding & Adaptability: Committed to safeguarding, equality and continuous improvement, with resilience, flexibility and professionalism to meet changing demands.
