Role Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has opened within our Sales and Marketing team for a Pre-Sales / Solution Consultant – Supply Chain. Working closely with Account Executives, prospective customers, Anaplan and Bedford’s Professional Services teams, you will lead solution demonstrations, develop proof-of-concept models and provide consultative guidance throughout the sales process. You will bring deep supply chain expertise and a credible point of view to every engagement, helping customers understand how Anaplan can support their planning objectives while contributing to business development, knowledge sharing and the continued development of Bedford’s solution consulting capability.

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer

Location: UK based / Remote – with travel required as needed for client-site engagements, meetings and industry events.

What to Expect

You will work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, supporting sales opportunities across a range of industries and supply chain planning use cases. The role requires a strong combination of supply chain domain knowledge, Anaplan expertise and commercial awareness. You will be expected to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, challenge customer thinking where appropriate and act as a trusted adviser throughout the sales process. Travel will be required to support customer meetings, workshops, demonstrations and industry events.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support Revenue Growth - Support Bedford's sales activities by providing solution and domain expertise required to secure new business and expand existing customer relationships. Contribute to wider business development and marketing activities, including customer events, webinars, thought-leadership initiatives and partner engagement.
  • Provide Solution Expertise - Design and present tailored Anaplan solutions, demonstrations, and Proof of Concept models that address customer requirements and demonstrate business value. Develop a detailed understanding of prospects' often complex and sometimes unique environments to facilitate adoption of the Anaplan solution. Bring a credible and trusted supply chain perspective to customer engagements, challenging assumptions where appropriate and helping customers shape their future planning approach.
  • Build Trusted Customer Relationships - Act as a trusted advisor throughout the pre-sales process by taking a consultative approach, understanding customer challenges, listening to the customer needs and recommending appropriate planning solutions. Build credibility with senior stakeholders by combining strong supply chain knowledge, commercial awareness and Anaplan expertise.
  • Collaborate Across Teams - Work closely with Bedford Account Executives, Anaplan colleagues, and Professional Services consultants to ensure a seamless customer journey from sales through to implementation. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicate effectively across teams, and share solution expertise through knowledge transfer and cross-training.
  • Maintain Technical Excellence - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Anaplan functionality, industry trends, and implementation best practices, applying this expertise to customer engagements and internal knowledge sharing. Innovate and deploy the latest Anaplan product enhancements alongside our internal knowledge base.
  • Contribute to Business Development - Represent Bedford at customer meetings, events, webinars, and marketing initiatives to promote Bedford's capabilities and strengthen relationships with clients and partners.
  • Maintain Quality & Governance - Ensure pre-sales deliverables, documentation, and internal governance processes are completed accurately, consistently, and within agreed timescales.

A bit about you

You are someone who naturally operates Beyond the Expected. You bring:

  • Key pre-requisites - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field. 8 - 10+ years’ experience in pre-sales, solution consulting or a closely related customer-facing role. Deep, hands-on knowledge of supply chain planning, including significant experience across relevant planning processes and optimisation. Ability to bring a credible and trusted supply chain point of view to every engagement, challenge customer thinking and guide the development of effective solutions. Experience with Anaplan and relevant Anaplan certifications. Excellent storytelling, presentation and demonstration skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear business value and respond confidently to detailed follow-up questions. Strong executive presence, with the ability to engage, influence and communicate effectively with senior executives and decision-makers. Strong customer empathy and business acumen, with the ability to understand customer needs and build trusted relationships. Excellent listening skills, with the ability to identify the underlying concerns, priorities and business challenges of prospects. Proven ability to act as a trusted adviser and establish credibility through a combination of supply chain expertise, product knowledge and commercial insight. Ability to lead by example and demonstrate strong proficiency across both the product and supply chain domain. Self-starter with passion, energy, curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset.   • Desirable Skills - Experience working across multiple countries and multicultural environments. Additional language skills would be advantageous. A master’s degree or other relevant postgraduate qualification would be desirable.
