About the role:

We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator - Plumbing and Gas to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group. As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Overall Responsibilities: Conduct initial assessments, coordinate apprenticeship journey, provide coaching and mentoring, assess learner performance, manage internal verification, develop training programs, and assist in curriculum development.
  • Main Duties: Induct, train, assess, and support learners; ensure quality initial assessments; lead induction process; stay updated on funding rules; provide coaching; conduct workplace assessments; deliver effective training; develop bespoke courses; give feedback; monitor health and safety; ensure evidence validity; maintain records; liaise with employers; promote courses; participate in quality assurance; engage in team activities; understand funding; follow disciplinary procedures; liaise with support teams; undertake other duties as assigned.
  • Statutory Duties: Promote and safeguard welfare, ensure equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, adhere to data protection, and participate in training and development.
  • Other Duties: Undertake any other duties assigned by the Group Training Manager.

About you:

  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English (grades A-C) or equivalent, A1 Assessor qualification or TAQA Award, Level 3 in the relevant sector area.
  • Knowledge: Recent developments in training, assessing, and verifying; standards associated with the role; work-based learning frameworks; Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
  • Experience: Relevant commercial or industrial experience, training and assessing competence-based programs, coordinating competence-based programs, liaising with work-based providers/employers.
  • Skills: Engaging and motivating learners, using initiative, managing caseload and diary, strong administration and coordination, effective communication, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Attributes: Flexible approach, ability to travel across a geographical area.
