Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough Campuses
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications, plus up to a £3,000 market supplement for suitable candidates. 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher's pension, retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, and access to college courses. Note: Salary and annual leave entitlement are for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Maths to join our English & Maths department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning Delivery – Plan and deliver high‐quality, inclusive Maths lessons across various levels, supporting learner achievement and progression.
- Curriculum & Quality Development – Contribute to curriculum innovation and quality assurance processes, aligning provision with national priorities and learner needs.
- Learner Support & Engagement – Provide tutorials, feedback and pastoral care to promote wellbeing, independent learning and positive behaviour and attendance.
- Collaboration & Compliance – Work with colleagues and external partners to enhance employability outcomes, while promoting safeguarding, EDI and health & safety.
- Professional Practice & Leadership – Maintain professional competence, support new staff, lead curriculum areas if qualified and participate in college‐wide initiatives.
About you
- Essential Qualifications – Relevant degree or Level 5 in Maths, a teaching qualification (CertEd/PGCE or willingness to achieve), and GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
- Teaching Experience & Knowledge – Recent experience teaching GCSE Maths, understanding of FE reform and safeguarding, and success in supporting diverse learners.
- Skills & Competencies – Strong communication, classroom management, lesson planning, and ICT proficiency (Microsoft 365 and digital platforms).
- Professional Attributes – Inclusive, reflective, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement, college values and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexibility & Compliance – Enhanced DBS, willingness to travel across college sites, awareness of health and safety and possession of a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
