Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Wellingborough and Corby Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary between £31,930 and 36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications with a market supplement of up to £3,000 for successful candidates, Teacher\’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Contract Type: Permanent – Full and Part Time roles available – Salary would be Pro-Rata if part time

Trainee roles also available, with the opportunity to gain teaching qualifications whilst in the role!

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Maths to join our Maths and English department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Teaching & Curriculum Delivery – Plan, deliver, and assess engaging maths lessons across a range of levels and qualifications, ensuring alignment with awarding body standards and individual learner needs.
• Student Support & Progress – Guide students through tutorials, monitor progress, and provide timely feedback to help them achieve their potential and meet academic targets.
• Curriculum Development & Innovation – Contribute to curriculum planning, develop new learning materials, and integrate vocational opportunities to enhance the student experience.
• Quality Assurance & Administration – Maintain accurate records, meet assessment and reporting deadlines, and participate in course reviews, team meetings, and quality improvement processes.
• Professional Engagement & Compliance – Support marketing and recruitment activities, uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and engage in continuous professional development.

About you:

• Qualifications & Subject Knowledge – Holds or is working towards a relevant degree or Level 5 qualification in maths, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and up-to-date knowledge of the subject area.
• Teaching Experience – Recent experience teaching and assessing maths at Level 2 and above, with a strong track record of high performance and meeting awarding body standards.
• Professional Skills & Values – Demonstrates excellent organisation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, aligned with the College\’s values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty.
• Student-Centred Approach – Committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences, promoting equality and diversity, and creating a welcoming, supportive environment for all learners.
• Flexibility & Compliance – Confident in using Microsoft Office, committed to ongoing professional development, and willing to travel and work flexibly across all Bedford College locations, with a strong focus on safeguarding.
