Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Wellingborough and Corby Campuses
Salary/Benefits: Salary between £31,930 and 36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications with a market supplement of up to £3,000 for successful candidates, Teacher\’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Newly qualified Maths lecturers joining our department may be eligible for a Targeted Retention Incentive Payment of up to £6,000-a government-funded grant aimed at supporting early-career FE teachers in high-demand subjects like mathematics. About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Maths to join our Maths and English department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching & Curriculum Delivery – Plan, deliver, and assess engaging maths lessons across a range of levels and qualifications, ensuring alignment with awarding body standards and individual learner needs.
- Student Support & Progress – Guide students through tutorials, monitor progress, and provide timely feedback to help them achieve their potential and meet academic targets.
- Curriculum Development & Innovation – Contribute to curriculum planning, develop new learning materials, and integrate vocational opportunities to enhance the student experience.
- Quality Assurance & Administration – Maintain accurate records, meet assessment and reporting deadlines, and participate in course reviews, team meetings, and quality improvement processes.
- Professional Engagement & Compliance – Support marketing and recruitment activities, uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and engage in continuous professional development.
About you:
- Qualifications & Subject Knowledge – Holds or is working towards a relevant degree or Level 5 qualification in maths, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and up-to-date knowledge of the subject area.
- Teaching Experience – Recent experience teaching and assessing maths at Level 2 and above, with a strong track record of high performance and meeting awarding body standards.
- Professional Skills & Values – Demonstrates excellent organisation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, aligned with the College\’s values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty.
- Student-Centred Approach – Committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences, promoting equality and diversity, and creating a welcoming, supportive environment for all learners.
