The predicted salary is between 20000 - 24000 £ per year.

Location: Based at Central Bedfordshire College Dunstable Kingsway Campus, but also situated around the community.

Salary / Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £26,754 per annum (DOE and Qualifications). 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours / Weeks: 37 hours per week.

Contract Type: Fixed Term – Full Time – Fixed until 3 January 2027. This is a UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship. Any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.

About the role

  • Learner Recruitment & Planning: Support the Team Leader with recruiting Team members and setting up individual learning plans tailored to each participant.
  • Teaching, Support & Assessment: Deliver basic skills support, conduct individual reviews and evaluations, and assist with academic underpinning throughout the programme.
  • Programme Administration & Engagement: Support record keeping, attend meetings, help promote the programme to employers and community partners, and complete required training.
  • Health, Safety & Risk Management: Ensure learners follow Health & Safety requirements and undertake risk assessments for placements and activities.
  • Compliance, Safeguarding & Development: Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety duties, participate in appraisal and ongoing training, and undertake additional reasonable tasks across locations.

About you

  • Core Qualifications: GCSE-level English (A‑C or equivalent) and willingness to achieve GCSE-level maths; strong communication skills across face‑to‑face, phone and written interactions.
  • Knowledge, Experience & Safety: Understanding of Equality & Diversity, experience with work placements, awareness of Health & Safety requirements, and confidence in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Learner Support Skills: Ability to deliver Basic Skills, motivate learners, build confidence, maintain professional boundaries, and work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Teamwork, Values & Professionalism: Strong team contributor who aligns with organisational values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty) and upholds the organisation's reputation professionally.
  • Organisation, Flexibility & Development: Excellent organisational/time‑management skills, willingness to update skills, travel across locations, and maintain positive working relationships.
