Overview

The Adult Services Contact Team is the front‑door social‑care team for Bedford Borough Council. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, with three days in the office, and involves working with a range of individuals and carers to assess their needs in accordance with the Care Act 2014.

Qualifications

  • Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of two years of post‑qualifying experience in a social work role.
  • Ability to work in a strength‑based, person‑centred way supporting individuals to achieve good outcomes.
  • Capability to manage a varied caseload and thrive in a fast‑paced environment; able to work within a team and autonomously as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the needs of individuals and carers in accordance with the Care Act 2014.
  • Provide social care advice and support, developing and implementing care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and secure professional records.
  • Participate in daily case meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Attend supervision meetings and professional development sessions.

Compensation and Benefits

This post carries a market‑rate supplement of £2,000 pa pro‑rata (subject to review), plus welcome and retention payments.
