Overview
This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of a multi-million-pound infrastructure project that will install electric vehicle charging points across the Borough. You will be involved in the procurement of suppliers and take a supported role in contract management. Away from the administration and management of the scheme, you will help to deliver the EV strategy and move it to the next phase of delivery. You will help the team to embed EV infrastructure provision across other service areas within the Council and liaise with external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation and operation contracts between the chosen Charge Point Operator and the Council.
- Lead on monitoring and reporting to elected members and to the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles as part of Bedford Borough Council’s duties under the LEVI scheme.
- Support procurement of suppliers and contract management.
- Collaborate with teams across the Council to embed EV infrastructure provision and liaise with external stakeholders.
- Develop and lead the Drive Electric Bedford Borough brand, including awareness raising and engagement with the public and local strategic stakeholders.
Qualifications and experience
- Project management experience delivering large-scale and complex contracts.
- Experience in procurement, contract management and monitoring/reporting.
- Ability to work with cross-service teams and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of EV infrastructure and related schemes is desirable.
