The Bedford Arms is a fantastic locational county pub with a beautiful and cosy traditional pub, a stunning terrace, and a rose garden. We offer 18 traditional hotel rooms and are a popular destination for both leisure and corporate clients. We showcase fresh and in-season British-inspired dishes and have an excellent beer, wine, and spirit selection.
As a Head Chef at Young's, you will have the opportunity to write your own recipes that match the food vision of your business using fresh seasonal ingredients. The food vision could include local produce, country pub classics, seafood, small plates and sharers, and dry-aged meat. You will work with fresh, seasonal produce, ensuring the menu evolves to showcase these fantastic ingredients when they are at their best.

What we look for in a Head Chef:
- Ability to inspire a team and lead by example while developing, costing, and producing fresh seasonal menus
- Experience championing excellent service through quality food either as a Head Chef or in the position of Sous Chef
- Passion for leading and developing a team
- Active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
- Responsible management of kitchen staff rota, training, and health and safety
- Creativity and ability to design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials
- Great planning and organisational skills to maintain effective controls regarding GP and labour
- Pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams
