This role is eligible for the hybrid working benefit, requiring the successful candidate to attend our Harrietsham office three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home up to two days a week once deemed competent to work independently and in line with the business needs. Applicants must be UK-based and live within a practical commutable distance of our office. Hybrid working is a benefit at Bedfont and not a contractual term.

Your Mission
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating cross-functional product development projects throughout their lifecycle, from concept and planning through to delivery and post-market activities. Working closely with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders, the role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality, regulatory and business requirements.
The Project Manager will drive project planning, resource coordination, risk management, stakeholder communication and decision-making, ensuring that priorities remain aligned with Company objectives. The role requires the ability to influence and engage colleagues across multiple departments, facilitate effective collaboration, and proactively remove barriers to successful project delivery.
In addition to managing project activities, the Project Manager will support continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to business planning and process development, and play a key role in ensuring that Bedfont's product development programmes are delivered efficiently and effectively. The Project Manager will be an organised, proactive and highly communicative individual capable of building strong working relationships.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of product development and business projects, ensuring objectives are achieved on time, within budget and in line with agreed scope.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and success criteria in accordance with design control and quality management procedures.
- Develop, maintain and communicate detailed project plans, ensuring project activities remain aligned with business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Coordinate project resources and cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery and utilisation of departmental capacity.
- Facilitate project meetings, design reviews, stage gate reviews and risk assessments, ensuring actions and decisions are clearly documented and progressed.
- Manage the Stage Gate process, coordinating stakeholders across Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Finance and other business functions as required.
- Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies, escalating concerns and recommending solutions where appropriate.
- Track project progress, deliverables, budgets and timelines using appropriate project management tools and reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure products and projects are delivered in accordance with customer requirements, regulatory requirements, quality standards and company objectives.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers and external partners to support successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate outsourced activities, suppliers and third-party service providers associated with project delivery.
- Prepare and present project status reports, metrics and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Support post‑market surveillance (PMS) activities, continuous improvement initiatives, audit actions and corrective action programmes where required.
- Contribute to grant applications, business improvement projects and strategic initiatives as required.
- Promote effective communication, collaboration and accountability across project teams to drive successful outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven project management experience delivering projects from initiation through to completion.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing project plans, timelines, risks and resources.
- Competent in the use of project management and planning tools.
- Experience within a regulated, technical, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of product development lifecycles and stage gate processes.
- Experience supporting or mentoring project team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
