About the Role

Contracted Hours:38.5 hours, Monday to Friday (with flexibility to meet project deadlines)

Location: Bedeck Design Studio - On site, Magheralin

Rate of Pay: Discussed at interview

Bedeck is seeking an experienced, creative and commercially minded Senior Designer to join our dynamic Design Team in our purpose-built Design Studio. This is a key role within the department, responsible for leading the design and development of innovative home textile collections, driving creative direction, and ensuring products align with brand strategy and market trends.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a strong eye for colour, pattern and product development, and have a proven ability to deliver commercially successful collections from concept through to production. They will also support and mentor junior team members, contributing to the continued growth and success of the design function.

What Youll Do

Design Leadership & Development

  • Lead the design and development of innovative and commercially successful collections across bed, bath, window and home accessories.
  • Drive multiple projects simultaneously, managing the complete design process from initial concept through to final production.
  • Present seasonal concepts, design strategies and final collections to the Head of Design and wider business stakeholders.
  • Ensure all designs meet brand standards, quality expectations and commercial objectives.

Creative Direction & Trend Analysis

  • Research and interpret global trends, consumer insights, competitor activity and emerging textile innovations.
  • Translate market intelligence into commercially relevant product concepts that strengthen Bedeck's market position.
  • Champion creativity and innovation across all product categories.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with the Design Team, Sales, Licensing Partners and Manufacturing Partners to deliver successful collections.
  • Build strong working relationships with external suppliers and licensors to ensure design intent is maintained throughout development.

CAD & Technical Design

  • Expertly utilise CAD software to create design concepts, colourways, repeats, technical artwork and detailed product specifications.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is accurate, comprehensive and production ready.

Production & Project Management

  • Manage supplier briefs, sampling programmes and artwork approvals, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Monitor product development timelines and proactively resolve design and production challenges.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the product development process.

Coaching & Team Development

  • Provide guidance, support and mentorship to Junior Designers and other members of the Design Team.
  • Share best practice, encourage creative development and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • Support the Head of Design with departmental initiatives and workflow planning

What You Need

Essential

BA (Hons) Textile Design or equivalent qualification.

Significant experience within a textile, home furnishings or product design environment.

Proven track record of developing successful commercial collections from concept to production.

Strong creative and technical design skills, with exceptional attention to detail and colour awareness.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; AVA experience advantageous.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of customer and market trends.

Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.

Experience working directly with manufacturers and suppliers.

Available to travel within the UK and internationally for trend research, supplier visits and creative development.

Desirable

Previous experience mentoring or leading junior designers.

Experience working within licensed brand environments.

Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and print production techniques.

Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing product strategy.
