Make a genuine difference in a vibrant, supportive school community. Bede’s is looking for a proactive, compassionate, and adaptable School Nurse Assistant to join our dedicated Medical Centre team. In this role, you’ll work alongside our Registered Nurses to deliver exceptional, pupil-centered healthcare across our Senior, Prep, and Summer Schools. If you excel in fast-paced environments, communicate effortlessly with young people and staff alike, and bring a warm, professional approach to care, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Quality Care: Support Registered Nurses in delivering first class medical, welfare, and emergency care to pupils aged 3 months to 19 years.
  • Drive Health & Wellbeing: Help implement innovative health promotion initiatives and wellbeing guidance across the whole school community.
  • Maintain High Standards: Assist with daily clinical administration, stock management, and upholding medical best practices.
  • Adapt On Your Feet: Seamlessly respond to daily, unpredictable medical and welfare needs with calmness and efficiency.

  • Communication Skills: An exceptional communicator who can connect warmly with pupils, build trust with parents, and collaborate effectively with school staff.
  • Relevant Experience: Background in a healthcare, first aid, or educational setting (experience working with children or young people is a strong plus).
  • Flexibility & Resilience: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, with the willingness to cover our Prep School in Eastbourne when required.
  • Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated, attentive to detail, and passionate about pupil welfare.

This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week on a Term Time Only plus 6 weeks contract (39 weeks per annum). We will be offering a competitive salary of £23,431.20 per annum plus holiday pay (£15.02 per hour) (Full Time Equivalent £31,326.91) along with a range of staff benefits including:
