We seek T‑shaped engineers – professionals with deep expertise in infrastructure or software engineering, complemented by broad knowledge of platform technologies, automation, security, and reliability. You will work within cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, performant platform solutions, automate workflows, improve reliability, and enable seamless deployments across hybrid environments (public cloud, private cloud, and on‑premises), with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in our Newcastle upon Tyne office two days a week. Please apply only if you’re comfortable with this arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, architecture, and implementation of platform engineering solutions that improve stability, scalability, performance, and security.
- Build cloud‑agnostic platform solutions, following a write‑once, deploy‑anywhere approach.
- Design and maintain automated systems across infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines, aligned with GitOps principles.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code and supporting platform services using high‑quality, well‑tested code.
- Implement and support monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform reliability and observability.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to enable smooth application delivery and adoption of platform capabilities.
- Support services post‑deployment, including troubleshooting and participation in an on‑call rotation when required.
- Create and maintain clear documentation to support ongoing use, understanding, and maintenance of platform services.
- Continuously look for ways to simplify how we work and improve our platform, tooling, and practices.
Senior Engineer Responsibilities

- Experience building or contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated developer workflows.
- Familiarity with containerised application development and deployment.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical audiences.
