Bedales School is a unique educational establishment, set in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. We are looking for a new member with excellent cleaning skills to join our highly dedicated Domestic Cleaning Team, delivering outstanding cleaning services for our staff and students in and around the school and boarding houses.

Duties:

  • Ordering stock
  • Support for onsite
  • Cover for cleaning any areas that are required
  • Disinfecting
  • Hoovering
  • Mopping
  • Emptying bins
  • Laundry (daytime only)
  • Cleaning touch points

Not all duties will be required and will be based on your shift pattern. Full induction training is given and on-going support is available from the onsite teams. This post is Regulated Activity.

Hours:

This post works all year round both during term-time when the school is open and students are present, and during school holiday and closure periods. You will be required to work 37.5 hours each week, Monday to Friday, from 07:00am to 3:30pm, unpaid breaks will typically be taken as 30 minutes for breakfast at 8:45am and 30 minutes for lunch at 11:50am. In addition, the post will be required to work a minimum of one in four Saturdays from 07:00am to 11:00am. Where a Saturday is worked the hours on Wednesday will be 07:00am to 11:15am.

Salary & Benefits:

£24,785 per annum. Free transport to and from work from designated pick up locations within the following areas:

  • 5.50am Emsworth
  • 6.00am Leigh Park
  • 6.05am Crookhorn
  • 6.08 to 6:15am Waterlooville
  • 6:30am Clanfield

Pre-Appointment Checks:

All candidates will undergo a Safeguarding Suitability Interview and application for an Enhanced DBS and Barred List check and be asked to provide evidence they are eligible to work in the UK, on an on-going basis, at the shortlist stage of the selection process.

All staff have a key role to play in identifying concerns early and in providing help for children and are expected to act in accordance with the school Safeguarding & Child Protection Policies. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job candidates to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
