BD Medication Management Solutions is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer to join our Global Customer Services team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality onsite technical support and training to biomedical engineering teams across healthcare facilities. Your primary focus will be on the maintenance, servicing and upgrade of our advanced medical technologies, including infusion devices, automated dispensing cabinets and pharmacy robotics. This includes performing both corrective and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance, reliability and compliance with medical device regulations. The role is a fixed‑term position for an initial period of 30 months, with the potential to transition to a permanent position.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site or remote technical support, including installation, corrective and planned maintenance & upgrades, adhering to customer service level agreements.
- Provide exemplary customer service, escalating technical and customer satisfaction concerns and retaining ownership of resolution.
- Build strong relationships that support and drive commercial growth and operational efficiencies while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting and data entry in our customer service management systems, compliant with KPIs and medical device regulations.
- Manage day‑to‑day personal planning, using efficient tools and ensuring all instruments are within calibration.
- Build and maintain an efficient car stock inventory.
- Strictly respect and comply with departmental processes, BD quality systems and health and safety regulations as required by the BD organization, customers and distributor agreements.
Qualifications
- ONC/HNC in Electronic Engineering (or similar) or a recent graduate in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience in field service is beneficial but not essential – junior candidates and those starting their careers are encouraged to apply.
- Strong IT aptitude, with knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking, troubleshooting and configuration (CompTIA Network+ certification desirable).
- Customer‑focused and having a proven track record of providing high‑quality service and repair in a high‑volume and pressure environment.
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills with the ability to articulate, promote and sell service products and value propositions.
- Hold a clean driving licence.
Location & Travel
The role will ideally be based in the North West of England but requires regular nationwide travel and occasional European travel, including overnight stays.
Salary & Benefits
For this position, the expected base salary ranges from £37,000 to £50,000 per annum. The role also includes an annual bonus and additional benefits.
