As a Field Service Engineer within Waters Advanced Diagnostics, you will support NHS and private sector microbiology laboratories. You will work across the full product range, including:
- Total Lab Automation
- Blood Culture Systems
- Molecular Diagnostic Instruments
- Cytology Systems
Your role will also include installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and corrective service activities across the Advanced Diagnostics portfolio.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Commission and install instrumentation to agreed timescales and specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance to planned schedules and quality standards.
- Independently complete corrective service actions while remaining fully compliant with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through strong communication, technical ability, and commitment to rapid response and high system uptime.
- Produce accurate and timely service reports using an iPad-based application.
- Manage consignment and car stock effectively to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
About you:
- Electrical/Electronic qualification essential (HNC, HND, City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Background in electro-mechanical, electronic, or related engineering discipline.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across complex hardware and integrated IT systems.
- Essential experience with IT infrastructure and networked environments, including: TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS, Windows operating systems and device configuration, Network connectivity troubleshooting, System integration and software-driven equipment support.
- Ability to diagnose both physical and network-related faults in a field service environment.
- Confident communicator with excellent customer-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Adaptable and solution-focused with a drive to resolve issues efficiently.
- Growth mindset with a proactive approach to learning and improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing, service-focused team.
The Salary Range Information: £43,000 - £50,000 + Car and Bonus
