Reporting to the Mould repair shift engineering technician, the Mould repair technician will provide toolroom‑based support for the maintenance and repair of plastic tools and equipment to achieve company and departmental goals through maximizing efficiencies and minimizing downtime, to meet the demands of a high‑volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Economically utilise time and in‑house facilities to maintain & repair injection moulding tools.
  • Utilise skills associated with cylindrical and surface precision grinding, milling, turning, polishing and laser engraving; manufacture jigs and fixtures to support production.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Procedures, safe working practices and high standards of housekeeping in the toolroom and other areas where toolroom work is undertaken.
  • Comply with all Safety Lockout and work warning systems.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies by working overtime as required by the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader.
  • Maintain spares records to facilitate replenishment and cost control.
  • Resourceful problem solver with good knowledge of electrical and mechanical aspects, adept at repairing and modifying parts to optimise functionality.
  • Experience in hot‑runner injection moulding is a distinct advantage.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office programs and other IT systems.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mentality.

Qualifications

  • Completed an apprenticeship or equivalent (HND or HNDC) in maintenance engineering.

Working hours and pay

This is a day shift onsite role (7am - 7pm, 3 on and 3 off). The role offers a competitive salary plus an 11% shift premium. Salary range: £25,000.00 - £38,125.00 GBP per annum.
