Our vision for Medication Delivery Solutions at BD
As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products that are used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provide a wide range of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia and closed medication management.
About the role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and implementation of vascular access services across hospitals. You will deliver expert training in the use of BD\’s advanced vascular access technologies, including ultrasound and Sherlock 3CG PICC tip navigation systems, through classroom instruction and bedside clinical mentoring.
You will collaborate closely with BD\’s Territory Managers, Clinical Consultants, and Market Access teams to support key accounts and drive clinical excellence. This is a field-based role requiring a high level of autonomy, clinical expertise, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Deliver the PICC Preceptorship Programme and advanced vascular access masterclasses.
- Provide one-to-one clinical training and mentoring in hospital settings.
- Support the development of vascular access services in collaboration with BD teams.
- Engage with stakeholders from C-Suite to frontline clinicians to promote BD\’s vascular access portfolio.
- Collect and report clinical data to demonstrate service improvements and patient outcomes.
- Maintain clinical competency in vascular access, including PICC placement using BD technologies.
About you
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Council ( NMC) registration
- Proven experience in vascular access and PICC/Midline placement
- Experience delivering clinical education and mentoring
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel extensively within the South East region
- Vascular Access Board Certification (AVA)
- Teaching and mentoring qualifications
- Experience with data collection and quality improvement initiatives
