Job Purpose: As a Junior QA Engineer you will work in a great atmosphere on stimulating projects with other talented QA engineers. We will need you to provide high quality manual testing services to the engineering team, working with other testers assigned to a project. You will be working closely with developers and the product owner, gaining a deep understanding of the product so that you can carry out both exploratory and scripted testing to a high level of quality.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Gain a deep technical understanding of the product you are testing
- Work with developers, other testers and product experts to write efficient and effective tests
- Actively participate in sprint planning and other project group activities
- Assist other QA Engineers in test issues and team technical discussions
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- STEM degree or other relevant qualifications
- A strong interest in the technical side of information technology and software development
- Use of defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, Xray)
- Debug/troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with API testing
- Design, document and maintain clear, structured and efficient test cases
Desirable:
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification
- Demonstrable experience with networking
- Demonstrable ability to write efficient and effective tests
- Working knowledge of Ubuntu or other Linux distribution
- Enthusiasm to learn and apply automation using BDD and python
