The Staff Medical Science Liaison, Medical & Scientific Affairs – Neurological Diseases implements important initiatives in KOL engagement, advisory boards, research, publications, medical education, and field intelligence between our Neurological Disease MSA team and the academic/non‑academic Neurological Disease community. This is a vital role that requires a blend of strategic understanding and expertise in Medical Affairs/Clinical Affairs to foster advancements in Neurological Disease diagnostics and support the medical community. This position reports to the Senior Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs – Neurological Diseases and is part of the Medical & Scientific Affairs organization.

The Beckman Neurological Disease RUO test portfolio enables researchers to advance Neurological Disease area knowledge. The role may be fully remote in a designated territory, working remotely to cover a global business area, primarily in the Eastern US.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals, identify unmet needs and scientific gaps, and collaborate cross‑functionally with internal partners to deliver field and medical insights.
  • Support development and implementation of strategic engagement plans to build relationships with KOLs, interventionalists, operating room staff, and medical societies in the Neurological Diseases field.
  • Assist with clinical studies and research initiatives, provide scientific and technical expertise, maintain communication with KOLs and authors, and train MSL team on research funnel opportunities.
  • Act as a scientific authority in Neurological Diseases, delivering education to internal and external collaborators and streamlining complex scientific information for the broader MSL organization.
  • Stay current on Neurological Disease research and trends, prepare materials for presentations, and participate in scientific symposia, conferences, and educational programs.
  • Provide training and education to internal teams, including Sales and Marketing, to ensure deep understanding of scientific messaging.

Essential Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience and Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years of experience and a Master’s degree, or 4+ years of experience and a doctorate degree.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in a Medical Affairs / Medical Science Liaison / Clinical Practice.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, regulatory guidelines, and medical terminology.
  • Proven track record to establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, interventionalists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both scientific and non‑scientific audience.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel a minimum of 20‑25% of the time (domestic and international).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product and domain knowledge of healthcare technologies and market trends.
  • 5+ years’ MSL experience working in the medical technology, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry in Medical or Clinical Affairs roles.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a business‑related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of Neurological Disease diagnostics and techniques.

Location & Remote Work

This position may be fully remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Eastern United States. The remote work arrangement allows work from home and provides flexibility across a global business area.
