Main duties of the job
As a maternity cover locum GP you will providecover for a salaried GP while on maternity leave, managing a caseload and dealingwith a wide variety of health needs in a primary care setting workingindividually and as a team to ensure a high standard of care for all registeredand temporary patients as you carry out the associated clinical andadministrative duties.

Three partners, eight salaried GPs, one ANPand one Paramedic Practitioner
Four First Contact Physiotherapists, two PCNParamedics, Health Connector, Practice & PCN Pharmacist and two PCNPharmacy Technicians
Purpose built main surgery in Beckington,modern branch surgery in Frome Health Centre
Sessions with twelve x 15 minute appointmentsand three x 5 minute follow up appointments
Virtually no home visits, visiting paramedics
EMIS web across both sites
Established training and teaching Practice
Shared network cover of enhanced access;

Job responsibilities
The duties of the post are to providecover for a salaried GP while on maternity leave, including a full range ofgeneral medical services as contained within the National Health Services(Primary Care) Act 1997 and which will include domiciliary visits as deemedappropriate.
The post holder is expected to supportthe partners of The Beckington Family Practice in providing all servicesoutlined in the GMS Core Contract and also in the aims and objectives of thePractice.
The post holder is expected to supportand input into the aims of the practice in areas of clinical governance, goodpractice, quality outcomes framework (or its replacement), enhanced services,practice audit, referral review and any other improvement plans as determinedby the practice.
The post holders prescribing shouldbe according to accepted clinical practice and guidance for acute and repeatprescriptions. It should follow practice policies and procedures, e.g. use offormulary and management of repeat prescribing.
The post holder is expected tomaintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times.Full involvement in any practice training is expected.

Qualifications
- Qualified GP MRCGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Full GMC Registration
- National Performers List registration
- Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Experience
- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- General understanding of the GMS contract
