Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation across the UK project delivery locations and branch network. Develop and implement Health and Safety initiatives to improve safety and learning across the UK operations. Management and oversight of the UK Quality Management Systems to meet and exceed the requirements ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015. Establish and develop long term corporate relationships with customer representatives, partners, advisors and suppliers to assist and support the achievement of the business targets. Establish and develop long term relationships with key function stakeholders across the UK business, contributing to the overall UK delivery.

Main responsibilities:
- Preparing Health and Safety strategies and implementing them in conjunction with updating and developing internal policies and procedures UK wide.
- Keeping up to date with new UK H&S legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of HSE applicable legislation and updates that impact our industry sectors.
- Manage, apply and develop the existing Health and Safety management systems, with a focus on continuous improvements.
- Contribute as the H&S lead to the UK project estimating and operational delivery teams in respect of CDM compliance and understanding, H&S tender initiatives and legislation oversight through the life cycle of project enquiry to delivery.
- Manage and implement robust systems for data capture and share, safety procedures ongoing and updates, weekly/monthly distributions both internal and external, reporting to MD/Group as dictated.
- Management and oversight of two remote based site advisor/auditors including their training and development requirements and one office based ISO/reporting specialist.
- Develop with the support of the two H&S advisors a UK wide training strategy inclusive of matrix update and management.
- Management, oversight and development of sub-contract and consultancy use in H&S management as assigned to the larger project delivery requirements.
Experience, knowledge and qualifications required:
- Qualified in occupational Health and Safety to a minimum of NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
- Qualification as a lead internal auditor OHSAS 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing safety initiatives, programmes and training.
- Experience and working knowledge across industry, in particular our key sectors with a focus on heavy and technical lifting.
- Experience of the CDM regulations, implementation and management of the differing roles and responsibilities associated.
- Demonstrable experience of root cause analysis techniques and reporting, including implementation of corrective actions and follow up.
- Has a proactive approach to Health and Safety delivery and the ability to move through the scales.
- Implementation of H&S and QMS strategies for actively monitoring and reporting of performance.
- IT Packages: Microsoft suite.
