Be part of a major aviation project in the Greater London area that will redefine the future of air travel and delivery excellence. The project scope includes planning, design, integration, and delivery of major airfield infrastructure, buildings, systems, and associated periphery infrastructure.

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports delivery of community-focused engagement activities for the Heathrow West Terminal Development Consent Order (DCO) process. Reporting to the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager, this role coordinates the work of third-party community engagement consultants, ensuring that community engagement outputs are aligned with technical engagement activities, statutory requirements, and overall DCO program governance.

Major Responsibilities

  • Support structured engagement with residents, community groups, businesses, and local representatives.
  • Act as the day-to-day interface with third-party community engagement consultants delivering community and public engagement services.
  • Create a schedule for community stakeholder meetings in collaboration with community consultants and the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager; determine meeting frequency based on stakeholder interest and influence.
  • Coordinate planning and delivery of community stakeholder meetings, briefings, public meetings, drop-in sessions, and digital engagement activities.
  • Monitor emerging community concerns and sentiment, ensuring timely escalation of high-risk issues.
  • Ensure consultant-led engagement activities align with project stakeholder engagement and consultation strategies.
  • Escalate delivery risks or issues to the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager as required.
  • Monitor consultant performance against scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Engagement Coordinator to ensure community engagement materials accurately reflect technical options and assessments (environment, engineering, traffic and transportation).
  • Arrange for technical consultant participation in community and public engagement meetings and briefings as needed.
  • Provide documentation of community stakeholder engagement for the development of the Statutory Consultation Plan.
  • Support delivery of the Statutory Consultation Plan, including notification requirements, consultation letters, and materials.
  • Review draft materials prepared by consultants to ensure clarity, accessibility, and compliance with program standards.
  • Ensure consultation materials are version-controlled and aligned with approved content.
  • Support preparation of briefing materials for senior project and technical representatives attending events.
  • Provide weekly updates of community stakeholder meeting schedules and issue trackers.
  • Document community stakeholder engagement following project procedures.
  • Submit information relevant for the Pre-Application Issues Tracker, the Lands, Rights Negotiation Tracker, and Statements of Common Ground.
  • Ensure engagement responses demonstrate how feedback has informed project development.
  • Assist in preparation of reporting inputs for the Consultation Report.
  • Maintain organized, auditable records of community engagement activities.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience delivering stakeholder engagement for projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external consultants and coordinate multidisciplinary technical inputs.
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder mapping, engagement planning, and consultation data systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting public consultation events and digital engagement platforms.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
