The project is the expansion of an existing process facility located on a Nuclear site in Capenhurst, Cheshire (UK). The facility is being expanded in response to changing market dynamics and will provide a major component of UK’s energy security strategy. The project scope currently includes overseeing the delivery of FEED and co‑ordinating the delivery of design deliverables to facilitate construction contract award. Subject to successful completion of FEED, there is the potential for a follow‑on EPCM contract to be awarded for the main works contract. The role will initially be based at the project design office (Warrington), but travel to the project site (Capenhurst) will also be required. Flexibility in work location currently includes a minimum of three days per week in person attendance at project premises. The role will require full time in‑person attendance on the project site premises upon the commencement of site activity. Candidates will have or must be able to obtain an SC security clearance.
Job Summary: In this role you will act as the key representative of the client to administer a high‑value construction contract. You will be responsible for leading multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver a complex infrastructure project on time, within budget and to quality standards. The role involves the administration of NEC4 contract, including the assessment of compensation events, certification of payments, acceptance of contractor programmes and issuing of instructions. You will be required to operate within a collaborative environment while maintaining impartiality between the parties. This position is designated as part‑time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Contract Administration: Proficiently administering the contract as the named NEC4 PM, issuing instructions, notices and certificates in compliance with the contract.
- Compensation Events: Managing the compensation event process, assessing both cost and time impacts within contractual deadlines.
- Payment Certification: Assessing and certifying payments, including identifying disallowed costs.
- Risk and Early Warnings: Overseeing the risk register and early warning process to proactively mitigate issues.
- Programme Management: Evaluating and accepting the contractor’s programme, ensuring it adheres to scope, including logic float and key dates.
- Stakeholder Management: Engagement with client, contractors and third parties, ensuring impartial, effective and collaborative communication is maintained.
- Safety: A responsible attitude towards safety and security, committing to a zero‑accident philosophy.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree qualified in an engineering‑based discipline.
- Proven record of administering NEC3/NEC4 ECC contracts in a named role.
- Nuclear or energy sector experience would be of particular interest, though not essential.
- Evidence of CDM training, accountability and implementation.
- Strong background in civil / mechanical / process engineering, infrastructure or construction.
