Job Summary: This role requires leadership on the project's environmental, sustainability and carbon management programme to deliver on the clients planning obligations and sustainability goals. The role supports the integration of environmental, sustainability and carbon management considerations into the design and construction stages on a large infrastructure project. You will act as the subject matter expert participating in all aspects of project delivery.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:- Lead on the project's environmental, sustainability and carbon management programme to deliver on the clients planning obligations and sustainability goals.
- Manages the scope, schedule, and cost of a sustainability and carbon management programme for a large project.
- Plans, implements, and maintains the project and/or organization's sustainability and carbon management programme to reduce the social and/or environmental impacts of operations and enhance social and environmental benefits.
- Communicates the project and/or organization's sustainability vision and program information.
- Participates in strategy, planning, estimating of budgets and staff, implementation, procedure management, knowledge management, measurement and reporting, risk management, continuous improvement, and serves as a subject-matter expert for the project team.
- Organises workshops and meetings with relevant stakeholders as required for understanding of requirements, resolution of issues, further guidance or decisions as appropriate and keeps good records of discussions and decisions.
- Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of those assigned to contributing to the sustainability and carbon management programme.
- Considers and recommends ways to incentivise contractors to demonstrate excellent environmental and sustainability.
- Ensures that assigned all project personnel receive appropriate sustainability and carbon management training.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and relevant work experience.
- Experience and knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and best practice in sustainability and carbon management.
- Advanced knowledge in sustainable design, construction, environmental management and mitigation.
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of environmental subcontractors, consultants and Tier 1 Contractors.
- Skilled in oral and written communication, able to listen, explain, explore and discuss environmental and sustainability issues with colleagues and contractor.
- Experience as a BREEAM Assessor.
- Working knowledge of PAS2080 requirements.
