Job Summary: Risk Manager role is a senior role responsible for managing the project risk management program on this exciting project. Responsible for guidance, support, and SME technical expertise in project risk management (PRM) for the project across an audience of internal and external stakeholders. Managing and maintaining resilient customer facing relationships and strategically maintaining trust of project leadership, the role requires an influential, confident people person with the ability to drive focus on PRM, lead through encouragement and connect PRM with key interfaces across the project scope. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Implement an effective and integrated risk management strategy: plan, processes, procedures, work instructions, etc. in line with client and international best practices and standards.
- Drive focus on actively managing risks.
- Maintain Risk and Opportunities statistics, monitor and report on major risks both at Project and Program level.
- Implementation of the Project Risk Mgmt. (PRM) function across Projects.
- Facilitate Risk Workshops monthly across the project & program.
- Deliver training in project risk management.
- Represent the project risk management program at project leadership meetings.
- Consolidate risks from Project level to Program level for overall review & reporting.
- Report Risk Metrics and graphical displays including dashboards to Project Management.
- Ability to work with limited supervision to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously under pressure.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Masters degree in engineering, Construction or Management (preferred)
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction or Management (minimum)
- Knowledge of International Risk Standards e.g. ISO31000, PMBok, and associated standards e.g. ISO 9001, ISO45001, ISO14000, etc.
- Demonstrated in-depth experience in Qualitative Risk.
- Ability to support and perform Quantitative Risk Management (QRA).
- Experience facilitating risk workshops, risk reviews/ sessions.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in engineering and construction with minimum 5 years direct responsibility for management.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Provides PRM program deployment support, including facilitating workshops and assisting with initial risk identification.
- Oversees the risk software deployment support, including initial system configuration and setup, training, and full integration of individual projects risk management plans with Bechtel risk management policies.
- Participates in the selection process of PRM personnel in the company (interviews, etc.).
- Provides PRM input to other functions within the GBU (i.e., input to quality, engineering procedures, etc.).
