Join us for an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a major aviation project in the Greater London area, that will redefine the future of air travel and delivery excellence. We’re building a dynamic team to plan and deliver complex, high-impact work, at the heart of one of the region’s most innovative and fast-moving developments. The project scope includes planning, design, integration and delivery of major airfield infrastructure, buildings, systems and associated periphery infrastructure.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Environmental Coordinator to support the development of the Environmental Statement (ES) and wider environmental workstreams required for a major infrastructure programme progressing through the UK's Development Consent Order (DCO) regime. Reporting directly to the Consents and EIA Manager, you will be a key member of the Environmental Assessment Team, helping to ensure that environmental data, documentation, commitments, and assessments are accurate, well coordinated, traceable, and compliant with planning requirements. This role is ideally suited for an early career environmental professional eager to develop expertise in environmental assessment, infrastructure planning, and UK consenting processes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Environmental Inputs to the DCO Application: Assist in the preparation of environmental deliverables required for DCO submission, including technical assessments, environmental management plans, and supporting documentation. Consolidate inputs from designers, engineers, specialists, and consultants into well-organised, audit-ready records. Ensure assessments remain aligned with design changes, consultation feedback, new survey results, or regulator guidance.
  • Environmental Commitments Management: Maintain and update commitments registers, mitigation trackers, and environmental requirements logs. Monitor outstanding commitments, ensuring they remain traceable and verifiable throughout the DCO lifecycle. Assist in converting DCO requirements into practical environmental controls and design inputs.
  • Regulator & Stakeholder Support: Assist the Consents Manager with preparation of responses to statutory consultees, including environmental regulators, planning authorities, and nature conservation bodies. Prepare supporting notes, summaries, and evidence bundles for consultation events, meetings, and technical workshops. Maintain accurate engagement records for inclusion in the Consultation Report or Evidence Plan documentation.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple inputs and maintain meticulous documentation.
  • Good written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear summaries and structured technical content.
  • Understanding of environmental assessment processes (EIA/ESIA) and/or UK environmental legislation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience supporting large infrastructure projects, planning processes, or DCO/NSIP submissions.
  • Familiarity with environmental commitments management or environmental management plans.
  • Experience handling technical documents, datasets, or evidence logs.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented.
  • Proactive and eager to take responsibility for coordinating tasks and chasing actions.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working to structured processes, deadlines, and quality expectations.
  • Team-focused, with a collaborative and supportive approach.
