Project Overview: The Atomic Weapons Enterprise (AWE) supports the UK Government’s nuclear defence strategy and Continuous At Sea Deterrent initiatives. Bechtel will partner with AWE to manage the information and documentation required for a multi‑billion‑dollar nuclear facilities investment.
Job Summary: Information & Document Manager for a UK‑based nuclear infrastructure project. Responsible for leading the full information life‑cycle, ensuring compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, and legal standards. The role supports AWE’s programme, establishes best practices, and delivers dashboards for performance monitoring.
Major Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the information & document management strategy, objectives, and processes.
- Establish a standardized framework for document control, data governance, and version management to reduce risk and improve compliance.
- Optimize workflows for information capture, storage, and retrieval, ensuring clarity and consistency across teams.
- Introduce practices that support automation and collaboration to improve consistency and effectiveness.
- Engage stakeholders across functions to identify issues, align solutions with programme objectives, and drive adoption through training and communication.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems to monitor performance and effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on best practices for information & document management.
- Lead the delivery of information management processes for each category of information to ensure effective control and management of documents/records.
- Support project close‑out activities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- 15+ years’ experience in Information, Document Management or Quality Management across large infrastructure programmes.
- Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels, driving process improvements and providing guidance.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies; Lean Six Sigma preferred.
- Ability to design and implement information management systems in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong presentation and reporting capabilities.
- Track record of delivering information management improvements across complex projects.
- Understanding of design and delivery requirements for technically complex projects in architecture, engineering, or construction sectors.
- Knowledge of Security Management arrangements is advantageous.
Primary location will be Aldermaston, UK with travel to Bechtel’s London office; work arrangement includes three days on site and two days telework or office; role is part‑time telework. Must be eligible for SC security clearance.
